Hi Tami,One of the most difficult
things for us in the past few months has been writing this testimonial.
Not that we are at a loss as to what to say, just the opposite in fact.
Every time we start this, it is outdated before we can get it finished!
Never in our wildest dreams would we have known that Tami would pick
such an absolutely perfect dog for us. When we first approached her we
were interested in learning more about the breed, it’s grooming, it’s
temperament, and more specifically the blacks. Don and I had just lost
our 15 year old pepper/salt male to old age. He was a great companion
dog and we were hoping to get onto Tami’s list for Spring 04 to co-own a
show bitch. Little did we know she had picked for us a show male from
her Summer 03 litter. Top Shelf’s Mexican Meltdown (BlackJack) born
July 4, 2003, has become the pride and joy of our “pack” at home. We
are also owned by two wonderful companion pepper/salt Standard
Schnauzers from Skansen Kennels, yet we wanted to work with a show dog.
There has always been an underdog quality about BlackJack that Tami
felt would make him a champion. Hours and hours of evaluation as a
puppy has really paid off. He is well on his way now. He did it! On
June 5, 2004, at one day past his 11 month birthday, BlackJack became an
AKC Champion with his third three point major. This is a feat rarely
seen in Standard Schnauzers. BlackJack’s endearing personality, stable
temperament, and gorgeous good looks have really set him apart from the
crowd. We anticipate an exciting show career for him.
Show ownership has transformed us into dogshow people. We have met a
variety of interesting people along the way and could not have gotten
BlackJack to this point without Tami’s guidance. Every step of the way
she was there to help us figure out the ins and outs of showing.
Setting us up with only the best handlers. Standing by us as we
learned about grooming the hard way—through our own mistakes. We
couldn’t have asked for a better support system than what we have had in
Tami, Steve, Brigitte and Samantha. What a terrific team and thank you
for making all the difference in the world! This experience has truly
changed our lives. All we can say is FUN, FUN, FUN. We are looking
forward to our continued association with Top Shelf Enterprises, THE
BEST IN BLACKS.
