Here at Top Shelf Standards Schnauzers we have been dedicated to breeding, raising, and training, and showing Standards Schnauzers since 2000. We only specialize in black Standard Schanuazers and we use only the most prolific pedigrees that will be most influential in producing the highest caliber black dogs utilizing many influential sire’s in Europe to breed to our Champion and top quality health tested (eyes and hips) pick bitches from our most sought after home raised litters. Top Shelf Standard Schnauzers is dedicated to producing dogs who are true to the AKC breed standard, have excellent temperaments and outgoing personalities, as well as overall beauty, symmetry, and ground covering movement that sets Top Shelf dogs apart from other kennels. Top Shelf puppies are all home whelped and raised in our home until 10 weeks of age, where they are socialized daily to adults, children, cats, other dogs and many sights and sounds all while in a safe, protective environment which we feel sets our puppies apart as you will see when yours is picked up at our home or is shipped to you, as we are very experienced shippers here as well. We are primarily a show breeder (but occasionally will have a pet or two to sell in each litter) and breed for excellence in all aspects of the show ring and we not only breed true to the AKC breed standard but are studious in making sure our dogs are bred true to the AKC origin of the breed; meaning we put a big emphasis on our dogs ability to stay true to what the breed was initially bred for - obedience dogs, agility dogs, search and rescue dogs, therapy dogs , protection dogs and tracking dogs, and we instill a “willingness to work” in our dogs because a true Standard Schnauzer is primarily “A WORKING DOG”, but all of our dogs primary goal is to be a loving, intelligent companion, and loyal guardian of their family and their home..
